A man clad in white armor wielding a large scythe, along with a score of soldiers marched to the village entrance. They passed a silver haired farmer.
"You men have any business in our village?" Asked the farmer.
The general shoved the farmer out of his way.
"Hey! Why'd you do that?!" Shouted the farmer.
"You should have...taken that as a warning." Said the general in a dark way.
He gave the order to kill him. An archer shot his arrow through the farmers throat. Crimson blood spewed out of the wound as the farmer fell. Watching villagers panicked and sporadically ran.
"Attack!" Ordered the general. The soldiers hunted down the remaining villagers; men and women, old and young. Elliot and Felden arrived just in time to see the horrible sight. Then the general finished killing two of the villagers; Elliot's parents. Elliot gasped in horror, seeing his own parents die. Tears rolled down his cheek in anger.
"E-Elliot?" Stumbled Felden. He felt great concern for his friend. The general turned his gaze toward the two boys. He pointed his finger at Elliot, but seemingly ignored Felden. Elliot rushed at him in great anger.
"I'll kill you!" Screamed Elliot. His speed was by far quicker than the general.
"This ones got some fight in him... I'll enjoy this." Said the general unworried by Elliot's threat. Elliot drew his sword at an incredible speed, and swung wildly at the general. Felden thought he should help as he drew his mace, but was already surrounded by more soldiers. They only kept him trapped, deflecting his attacks, but not killing him. Felden tried to recite a spell, but was quickly silenced as a soldier elbowed him in the back. He wimpered helplessly, as he could not help his friend.
Elliot continued to swing, in hopes of actually connecting a blow, but his attacks were quickly caught by the general's scythe. Elliot tried to kick him but only hurt his foot under his boot. The general shoved Elliot with his forearm. Elliot was laying helplessly on the ground as the shove had great power. The man stepped on his chest leaving Elliot immobile. The general aimed his scythe to slash through the top of Elliot's skull, instantly killing him. But as he gained momentum in his slash, an arrow struck him in the arm. It didn't penetrate the armor, but misdirected his swing, only causing the tip of his scythe to slash through Elliot's brow, skipping his eye luckily, and ending on his cheek.
"Run Elliot!" Screamed the archer. More villagers gathered to push the general off of Elliot, allowing him to run. The archer joined. Elliot gathered his thoughts and got up to run. A painful mix of tears and blood ran down his cheek. He ran to the forest hoping to escape the soldiers through the winding woods.
"ELLIOT!!!" Screamed Felden. A soldier struck him in the head with his fist, knocking him out. The general pushed all the villagers off him and depacited them all with his scythe in one deadly swing.
"Private Ramsey!" shouted the general. A soldier ran to his side, pushing a headless body out of his path.
"Yes General Kelm?" Asked Ramsey.
"Burn the village. make sure no one else survives." Ordered Kelm.
"But sir! This was just a farmer village! Why would the king order us to kill everyone here?" Asked Ramsey.
"It was the King's orders. Do you want to disobey him? He'd surely execute you like he did the many other people who questioned his orders." Responded Kelm.
"Y-Yes sir." said Ramsey. "You heard the orders! Burn the village and kill any remaining villagers!" Commanded Ramsey to the other soldiers.
"What about this boy?" Asked another soldier. "He knew the one that escaped. And his hair is black, not silver."
"Keep him captive for question. He's not one of these people, too." Said Kelm.
The soldiers grabbed the torches that light the streets, and threw them into the buildings. Any remnants left of the village was burned. The fire glew brightly in the night sky. Felden was in chains, being put into a cage on a wagon carried by horses. He was still unconscious, laying limp in the cage.
Elliot attempted to mend his cut with natural herbs he identified. He knew that learning about survival would come in handy. The lotion he made out of various plants stung on his wound, but helped mend it. He looked up to the sky and saw the smoke from his village.
"I can't believe everyone I knew was taken from me so fast." Elliot thought. He continued to wander for he knew the soldiers would pursue him. He had to have a substantial gain on them. And so Elliot continued on his grim way in the middle of night. He knew he'd travel all night. He just hoped that the creatures would not attack him.
"But why would they want to take out MY village?" The moon was high in the air, making the blood on his face gleam.
