Emi's ramblings
Sometimes I babble about stuff. Sometimes people care.
100. Venom, 99. Biohazard
100. VENOM - As one of the key European bands of the early '80s, this rough 'n ready crew almost single-handedly drew up the blueprint for the Black Metal movement that would soon emerge as a vital hard rock scene on both sides of the Atlantic.
Latest release - Hell (200 cool
My opinion - Well, I'm gonna be completely honest here, I've always felt really uncomfortable when there are Satanic references (obvious or metaphorical) in anything. And Venom throws it out there pretty obviously, as in the cover art for their debut album Welcome to Hell, which consisted of a yellow ram's head and pentagram on a black background. However, I can't deny that they do have a lot of musical talent. Lyrics are well written, and everything is performed well, although it's nothing really spectacular. I give these guys three out of five. dramallama dramallama dramallama

99. BIOHAZARD - While bassist Evan Seinfeld has recently become something of a media celebrity thanks to his marriage to porn queen Tera Patrick and his role on MTV's Supergroup, those tid-bits can't overshadow the fact that Biohazard was one of the first bands in the world to combine hardcore, metal, and urban stylings.
Latest release - Live in San Francisco (2009)
My opinion - To be totally honest, there are only two things I don't like about Biohazard. Number one: they're not the kind of band that's going to stand out in my mind. And number two: vocals aren't that well done for the majority of their work, although there are a few moments that shine through, just not well enough to make the band stick with me. I'm gonna have to give these guys a two. wahmbulance wahmbulance
