Alright so I guess I'll update my gaia journal for once. Normally I just use Deviant Art for my journal but I guess I'll post here.
Today there's been a lot of talk about the zodiac being updated and having a 13th character added. Actually I heard about this months ago. I guess today it was made official. Most people have become some totally new character now. I was a virgo but now I'm a leo apparently. This is not a big deal to me since I don't take stock in astrology. Still interesting news.
About a week ago some guy turned a vibrator into a frag grenade in an attempt to kill his ex girlfriend. The idiot told someone about his plan and they turned him in. I've posted the news article around a lot. I laughed at first. That's a very creative idea for revenge. The end results could have been pretty bad.
Almost a week ago there was an assassination attempt in Arizona. Representative Giffords took a bullet to the brain and survived. Several people including a little girl and a judge died and many more were wounded. By now you would have to be living under a rock to have not heard about this. This has fanned the flames in the gun debates here in the U.S. If you haven't figured this out yet I like guns and I do not think they should be banned. I can understand how people can think banning guns is the answer. My friend Fresnel said it best when he said we should just ban murder instead because if murder is illegal nobody will do it. Giffords supported gun rights and she got shot. This is pretty ironic. Maybe it's karma balancing the field after Pat Regan. She was a strong anti gun protester in the UK. She hated guns with a passion so she was found stabbed to death. Anyway my heart goes out to those harmed by the shootings. They are in my prayers.
So right now I've actually got more blades within arms reach than operational firearms. About a month ago we took all our guns to the gunsmith. The luger is the only fully functional gun left in here. Well we also have a Jennings J-22 but grandpa keeps that elsewhere. My old AR-7 got fixed. We thought it was missing a pin. As it turned out it was just missing a spring so the gunsmith made a new one. Unfortunately the stock and barrel are still missing so all I have is the action and an 8 round mag. For those of you unfamiliar with the AR-7 it's a survival rifle that is meant to be broken down and all the parts stored in the stock for compact portability. You can fit it in a backpack. It's good for hiking and what not. My grandpa ordered a new barrel and stock online, but they've been back ordered. If the order isn't sent out in the next week or two he's going to cancel the order. In the meantime he got a red dot sight for it which is pretty cool. The trigger job to my Marlin 60 disintegrated in my hands. When I went to reassemble the rifle after cleaning it. I pushed the hammer back on the trigger job and a C clip popped out and it fell apart. I spent several days trying to reassemble it myself with no luck so the gunsmith has to do it instead. We've also got a .32 revolver that is really broken. I have no idea what all is wrong with it but it looks like it will take a lot to fix. I'm not sure how readily available the ammunition is either. It takes .32 long. There are 4 stores in the area that I know of that sell ammo. One doesn't have it for certain so I need to check the rest.
Sabaton is a band I really like. They're a power metal band that sings about war. Their biggest hit Primo Victoria is about the D Day invasion in WWII. Attero Domminatus is about the fall of Berlin in WWII. White Death is about a Finn sniper that killed 700 Russians in 100 days and survived getting shot in the face. Anyway they're from Sweden. Last year they had this huge tour called the World War tour all across Europe. Around November they announced the tour would extend to the United States. This is their first time playing here. The US leg of the tour is kinda short with only about a dozen shows or so. One of the shows happens to be about 2 hours from where I live so my sister got me a ticket to the show for Christmas. biggrin I'm really looking forward to this.
