I've been more active on Dead Frontier lately. It's a zombie survival game. I just wanted to talk a bit about signatures. I find myself highly critical of signatures in the DF forums. There are a lot of really good looking signatures, yet I keep seeing them as cheap and crappy. The people who made them are better at photoshop than I am. They make them look nice, but from an artistic point of view I feel a sense of plagiarism. Most of the signatures on DF start with a preexisting graphic probably found some random place on the internet. S.T.A.L.K.E.R, the newer Fallout games, and various zombie survival movies/games are the most abundant source of the stock images. All the signature makers really do is add some special effects then throw in a username. I guess in a way that's all I do with my signature here on gaia though. It's just the same old tux pic with different twists.
My signature on DF is different though. It's got one of my bullet signs where I spell out the username in bullets. I take a bag full of bullets and I arrange them in such a way that they spell out letters and make words. They don't look especially nice, but the effort I put into it gives it meaning to me.
