The other day I was helping my friends mom move a large wooden cabinet into their house from the garage. Before moving it I looked inside and saw two large spots. I thought it was mold since the air is so humid in Oregon mold grows easily even without something being in water. We bring the cabinet inside and she looks inside to clean the dark spots when we realize movement. The spots were thousands of tiny ants. She freaked because she hates insects. We took the cabinet outside and cleaned out the ants. We flipped it upside down and found more ants on the bottom so we cleaned them off too. I noticed some panels on the "bottom" of the inside and others on the "bottom" of the outside. Two different panels. My main concern was that if there was a gap between the two panels it was likely to be full of more ants.
I thought about it for a while and decided to gas them. We put a tarp around the cabinet to act as a tent to keep the gas inside. I put a can with some house hold cleaners inside and stirred the chemicals before sealing the tarp. 3 hours later we took the tarp off and let the area air out a bit before moving it inside.
