Chapter Sixteen San Antonio
It had been about a day and a half since MCR and Aiden decided to go to Las Vegas. Claire had kept in touch with wiL and the Aiden Family. She enjoyed having conversations with wiL that lasted hours about who loved the other more [she totally loved him more, by the way]. This night, however, was making her nervous. She hadn’t received her customary evening phone call from wiL yet and she was getting somewhat depressed. Her family had still decided to live their normal lives and ignore the end of the world completely. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. “Claire, go get that!” Her mother yelled from the kitchen. Claire got up from her computer chair and ran to the door. Standing in front of her was wiL Francis. She leapt into his arms and he spun her around, finally kissing her passionately on the lips. She blushed from head to toe when he did so and blushed even more when he kissed her again. “Claire, who is it?” Her mother had come from the kitchen to see who was at the door and why her daughter hadn’t let them in. She let out a small gasp when she saw Claire in wiL’s arms. He was dressed in his customary tight black pants and suit jacket, with a red dress shirt and black suspenders and a skinny black tie. His eyes were rimmed with black eyeliner and he had one of his lopsided grins on his face. Claire could tell that wiL was making her mother uneasy so she gave him another kiss in front of her and decided to introduce him. “Mom, this is wiL Francis. He’s my…my…,” She began to blush a little. wiL decided to help her out. “I’m her boyfriend,” he said, kissing Claire’s forehead. Her mother turned a little pale and rushed back to the kitchen. wiL laughed. “I think she likes me,” he smiled at her. Claire laughed. “So, my darling, where’s your suitcase? We need to get out on the road again, as soon as possible.” “It’s upstairs,” She said, leading him up the stairs, to her room. He made a low whistling noise when he saw her poster-covered room and couldn’t help but smile when he saw his own image taped to the wall. Claire blushed a little and grabbed her suitcase, which wiL promptly took from her. “I can carry it, you know.” “I know. I just don’t want you to,” wiL dragged the suitcase down from the stairs and took it out to the tourbus. Claire went into the kitchen, grabbed all the packets of Kool-Aid and smiled at her family. “I’m not spending my last days on earth here. I’m sorry, I just can’t. For once in my life, there are people who actually love me and they want me to be with them. I’ll see you on the other side,” she said and blew them a kiss, then ran from the house to wiL’s open arms. She had never felt freer in her whole entire life.
