Onizuka Eikichi, former legendary biker and leader of the 'Onibaku' gang, 2nd degree blackbelt, short tempered, aggressive, blonde haired japanese 22 year old pervert. And this guy decides to become a teacher. I just love how this picture is such a lie. mrgreen It's a classic, airing back around 1999, about a man who's motivation for becoming a teacher was so that he could get laid by high school girls. (No, it's not porn. A few panty shots and a... somewhat revealing commercial, but no porn.) In any case, he sets himself up in a teaching program through his college. Miraculously making a good impression by taming a wild class, Onizuka is guaranteed a teaching position in the fall. Too bad this idiot doesn't take his exam for a teaching licence. Drunk and miserable, Onizuka's buddy did some research. It turns out Oni doesn't need a licence to teach at a private school. After a German Suplex or 2, a rampage on a freeway in an 18 wheeler, a destroyed vice principles car, and a really poor introduction to the school, Onizuka Eikichi 22 years old gets introduced to his new class. Full of schoolyard terrorists.
It's a fun anime, filled with 'unique' teaching methods. ^-^ I thoroughly enjoyed it, from the delinquent help he gives the kids to helping make a klutz into an overnight super idol. And from now until hell freezes over, I will be miserable never having heard "Sensei! Tasukete!!!" But that's a little later in the series.
The scores:
Art: 10/10. It's old school art. Think Trigun style and you won't be far off.
Music: 10/10 -2. The music itself was fine, including intros from "L'Arc~en~Ciel" (The same guys that did 'Ready Steady Go' from Full Metal Alchemist.) It loses 2 points for the intro animation though... I did NOT need those visuals every. Single. Episode.
Storyline: 10/10 Filled with comedy, drama, and action, it's well balanced. Since it revolves around different students with different problems, it's hard to repeat sections of the plot.
All in all, 9.3/10. Soooo close to a perfect score. Those intros are just a little too much for me to handle. sweatdrop A very good anime, nonetheless.
