But I do know one thing;
Whatever Boogiepop was, real, or just a figment of Touka Miyashita's imagination,
I fell in love with him.
He was the kind of friend that everyone wishes they had.
It was the way he would talk.
He made everything seem so dynamic.
He would say things like:
"The world is only ever viewed through the eyes of a single individual, Takeda-kun. But to get the entire story, humans need to view the situation through eachother's perspective."
He would make you feel so small.
No.
He would make the world seem so big.
One day he just said it.
"I'm going now. This is goodbye."
If I cried after that I forget. It's mostly a blur. Right before he left though, he said something to me very clearly that I'll never forget.
"Humans are lucky, they are driven by dreams, aspirations. They have something to keep them going...
...keep going Takeda-kun."
...keep going Takeda-kun."
It made me realize something; of all the countless afternoons I had spent on the roof with him, I never once saw him laugh,
or even
smile.
I guess that's the real tragedy,
Boogiepop doesn't dream.
