so i already posted this chapter, and it got DELETED!! so im only going to do as much as i remember for now, and then fix it later... cuz i mean it IS 10:35 at night...
so here we go.
again. - -

omake theatre continued~! again!
Lavi glanced around the cafeteria. It was mostly empty, accept for a few couples hidden here and there in the expanse of wooden picnic tables, wracking their brains for any answers they could muster to the manilla folder question challenge. He looked around the edges of the room and along the floor, but he saw no sign of a folder that looked as if it was unowned.
"where could she have thrown it..." he said, putting a hand to his chin in a mock sherlock fashion. 'Think.' he commanded his brain, 'what did you hear them say earlier!?'
Lavi could practically see luna and alteara in their room, the latter comforting the former who was trying to drown in her covers.
"its alright." luna said, "i already got rid of the folder anyway, i threw it away... threw it away... threw it away..."
"hmmm..." lavi meditated with his eyes scrunched. "it feels like she's trying to tell me something..."
"she threw it away baka usagi." kanda snapped.
"kanda~!?" lavi cried, whipping around to see the samurai scribbleing away at a folder of his own, refusing to look up at the distressed red head. "how long have you been here? and how did you know what i was thinking!?"
"one." kanda snapped "ive been here the whole time, and two, you said everything out loud." He picked up a hand from the paper and rested his chin on it, sending a smug grin at the red head.
"oh." lavi said bluntly. then he moved over to his samurai friend and sat across from him. "who's folder is that?"
"alteara's" kanda said, with the faintest hint of a blush.
"but she went off with that other finder!" lavi cried, "how did you get it?!"
"she told me that finder already had a girlfriend." kanda said, "and she asked me to do it."
"but then why did she go off with him?" lavi said pensivly. Kanda shrugged, returning his gaze to the paper.
"dont you have something to look for?"
"eh?" lavi blinked. "ah thats right!!" He jumped from his spot on the table and rushed over to the nearest trashcan. He thrust his arm inside and wiggled it around a bit. Kanda scrunched his nose.
"nothing here..."
"nothing..."
"nothing..."
"noth- AH!" Lavi emurged from the fourth can with a banana peel on his head, something like bean soup on his shoulder and a remotly and suprisingly clean manilla folder in his hand.
"alright!!" lavi cried, his eyes burning with determination "lets get working!!"

Komoui sat in his office, observing the couple in front of him. The girl was red faced and twisting her hands into the bottom of her shirt, pulling it down ever so slightly. The guy was glaring death at komoui, and was equally red in the face.
"what kinda question was THAT?!" the guy yelled "How am i supposed to know that?!" The girl flinched lightly and twisted her shirt tighter. Komoui smiled.
"im sorry but thats incorrect."
The couple stormed from the room, ranting about the crazy supervisor.
Komoui remained in his chair, laughing manaically in the darkness of his office. "no one will get this question..." he laughed "until my darling lenalee is guaranteed a day off!!! kukukukuku!!!"

Luna was in one of her favorite rooms in the order. It was a large greenhouse like area, at the top of one of the many spires. It was filled with beautiful trees and flowers that the science department were researching, and supposed to be off limits, but that hadn't stopped her (along with lavi) from sneaking in and exploring. They had found a large twisted tree that was situated on a balcony. The trunk twisted up into a beautiful branch like sitting area where you could sit and look over the surrounding landscape.
That was where luna was now, curled with her knees to her chest and staring at the fluffy clouds floating by.
"whats a girl like you doing in a place like this?"
Luna didnt need to turn around to know that lavi had just invaded her privacy. She didnt respond as the red head climed into the tree canopy and swung his legs over the edge, letting them swing in the free air.
"this place is nice." he said softly.
luna didnt respond.
"what are you doing up here?" he asked agian. Luna sighed. He obviously wasnt going to let her go with just being quiet.
"thinking." she said, trying to keep her voice neutral.
"'bout what?"
"this stupid competition." She smiled and pulled her legs closer. "its so dumb, couples dont need math to know that they like one another..."
"thats true." lavi laughed. Luna turned and looked at him in suprise.
"but..."lavi grinned straight at her. "i think its always good for couples to go out now and then. you know... like a date?" He held up the manilla folder and tapped it on her head.
"b-but..." she studdered in shock "i... how... and you..."
Lavi's grin got even wider "what made you think i didnt want to do it?"
Luna frowned and stretched her legs out, letting them hang over the edge as well. "you said you thought it was stupid, and would never do it..."
Lavi put a hand to his chin and made a thoughtful face. "hmmm... did i...?"
"you did."
"really?"
"yes."
"you sure?"
"yes"
"but i dont remember...."
Luna raised a fist at the joking bookman, but before she could hit him he grabbed her wrist.
"it was a joke." he said, looking at her seriously "i was making fun of kanda."
luna stared at him incredulously. she huffed, then tried to pull her hand away from him, but when she jerked it, he pulled back. they played tug for a while until luna tried to trick him with a fake tug. Lavi overcompensated and pulled her forward.
Her body lurched toward his and their lips met.
Both froze in an instant and went stiff. Quickly luna pulled away, moving a few feet away. Lavi's face turned a dark red and he looked away. Luna picked up the folder that was between them and buried her face in it, glad for an excuse to hide. Lavi turned away and gently brought his fingertips to his lips.
'that was...'
"this is great!!" Luna cried.
"EH!?" lavi cried, whipping around. Luna was holding up the folder with a big grin on her face. "you did it all right!!"
"of course!" lavi yelled, trying to supress his blush, "i am a bookman after all."
Luna laughed and then closed the folder with a 'snap'. "i guess we should go see komoui then." she smiled.
"of course." lavi jumped out of the tree and gave luna his hand to help her down. Once she was down, they realized how tightly their hands were intertwined, blushed and looked away again.
"we... should go.."
"y-yeah."

The pair arrived in front of the doors to komoui's office shortly after, and happened to run into alteara with kanda, and allen with lenalee.
"so!" lavi cried waving to the others "you guys here too?"
"are you two finally finished?" Kanda snapped with a sneer.
"and WHAT exactly are you implying?" luna snapped back, matching kanda's sneer with a glare.
"now guys." lenalee stepped in putting a hand on luna's and kanda's faces and pushing them apart. both steped back a few feet and looked amazed. "no fighting. At least not until were done with this competition."
The two crossed their arms, both making a 'che' sound.
"there so alike its scary..." allen sweatdropped.
"thats probably why alteara likes him." lavi said softly, watching as alteara moved in between the two, torn with trying to comfort them both at the same time.
allen laughed. "creepy..."
"Alright." luna called, and the group moved into a somewhat organized circle, the couples standing together. "so... its question time. the only problem is...
who goes first?"

DUN DUN DUUUUUU lol. im leaving it here for now, even though i know what happens later.
my brain made a MAJOR plot change courtisy of one of my readers. (you know who you are!! ) now i just have to... be creative for once. sweatdrop
for now... im gonna go eat me some clam chowder ^ ^
