Just to recap, in the last entry Ace saw a kid running in front of Kakashi's lightning blade jutsu. wanting to save the mystery kid, Ace used the shadow dash to beat the kid to the punch. Ace then pulled out his sword. Now comes the aftermath of this action!
"A Life Changed"
With very little time to act, Ace turned his sword so that the flat sides were facing him and Kakashi. The force of the attack pushed Ace backward. Ace held his ground, but when the attack was through, Ace's sword cracked and broke. "What are you doing!?" Kakashi said. "If your attack hadn't been blocked, you would have taken the wrong life. And taking a life is bad in itself. Ace then stepped aside to reveal the boy who had jumped in front of the captive ninja. Due to the original shock of having his attack blocked, Kakashi's jutsu had dissapated, allowing the ninja to try and swing his sword. Ace had managed to jump out of the way with the boy and held onto him, just in case the boy tried to be a shield again. He also told the boy that nobody should ever throw their life away, that there was always a reason to live. And if one reason dissapears, another would come to take its place. In time, Kakashi was able to wound the ninja's other arm (The first had been wounded by the jutsu, which was the dogs holding him in place). "You can't fight anymore," Kakashi said. "just give up." And with that, there was clapping coming from the distance. It was Gato, and he appeared to have a large army of henchmen with him.
"It seems you didn't get the job done Zabuza," Gato said. "But that's what happens when you hire second-rate ninjas. And you call yourself a demon? Some demon you are. You're just a baby demon!" and the henchmen laughed. Gato then ordered his henchmen to attack, but before he could, Ed threw Ace a sword he had crafted from the steel bars nearby. And as Ace got ready to defend them, He felt strange. Another presence began to take over. He looked at his hand. It was turning black. He felt his face. He couldn't feel his nose or mouth, just a lump that was like a nose (Kinda like he was wearing a mask, like Kakashi's for instance). And Ace probably would have freaked out if he saw his eyes, for they were all yellow. Ace could no longer control what he was doing. it was like a blur. Then he passed out.
Ace had a horrible nightmare that he was covered in blood, killing people left and right. Then he heard a voice say "Control yourself!" It wasn't the voice of the Black Knight, it was the voice of a girl. the voice was familiar somehow... Ace awoke right after hearing that voice. He found himself back at the old man's house, with Amaru looking over him. "What happened?" he said. Amaru explained that she had come to the bridge hoping to bring everyone some lunch (She had made it at the ship, so she didn't know about the bad things happening) when she saw him change into something else. She saw him knocking people with weapons into the water, but then he beheaded one person. Ace's blood ran cold. He had killed someone. But he had no knowledge of doing so. All the same, someone had seen him do it. Then Amaru spoke again " It wasn't very clear when you did it though, all I saw was you swinging something and then something going off and then a person drop to their knees. Maybe you didn't do anything." Somehow Amaru always knew what to say in times of need. Just then Kakashi walked in with Zabuza tied up and the boy tied up as well. Then everybody else followed.
Ace took this as his chance to find out the truth. "Did I really behead someone? Tell me the truth. I need to know!" Zabuza was the one to talk. "No kid, you didn't. All you did was blow off his wig. He got scared when you did that and dropped to his knees crying like a baby." Ace was relieved. but he still felt afraid. what if he changed and really did kill someone? Ace felt tired and passed out again.
What kind of monster is Ace harboring? is this good or bad? you'll have to read the next installment to find out!
