"WHERE THE HELL IS RICHARD!?" Shouted Gebet as he fired at the orks. “I NEED HIS CONFIRMATION TO FIRE THE EARTSHAKER ROUNDS, last time his commissar disobeyed orders he was decommissioned with a pistol shot.” “SIR, SIR WHAT DO WE DO THEY'RE TEARING DOWN THE BARRACKS!" Yelled a guardsman. "YOU WILL FIGHT, OR YOU WILL DIE!" yelled Gebet. The squigoth raised himself on 2 legs and went to stomp down the barracks with 1 final stomp. But then a Loud and destructive shell hit the squigoth in the side making it fall over. Gebet looked in shock and said "what the hell....?" And there it was, 12 barrels of imperial might roaring over the battlefield, the Baneblade(1) battle tank. Gebet then yelled "BY THE EMPEROR, THE WARMASTER CAME THROUGH AFTER ALL."The ork warboss then looked at the shot mumbling "waaaat?" in less then a second or a flash of the eye I reachedfor the sniper rifle with my arm, grabbed it, brought it up to the orks face and fired, dislocating my arm with the recoil. The ork warboss let out a groan and fell back dead. I scooted up to a broken wall to lay on it. I yelled and laughed maniacally. " YOU STUPID SON OF A b***h, YOU COULDA HAD ME HAHHAHAHAHAH THE EMPERORS BLESSING IS TRULY UPON ME, IF YOU SPENT LESS TIME TORTURING ME YOU WOULDNT BE DEAD." I put my other hand on my forehead and couldn’t stop laughing, laughing at the ignorance of my enemy. Laughing that I could of been killed and been out of this whole mess. The laughing ceased when I coughed up blood. I was so injured I couldn't even move. So with the little strength I had I reached for a cigarette on my coat pocket, put it in my mouth. I passed out before I could light it.
Gebet came running through the ruins of the city "I heard a sniper rifle is anyone there?" He then spotted me next to the ork warboss's body and cried "COMMANDER, ARE YOU ALRIGHT!?". I woke up in a daze like I did in the chimera and replied "it’s....just a flesh wound Gebet..." "THAT'S NOT A FLESH WOUND SIR." yelled Gebet as he ran towards me "your just lucky I carry medpacks." he said as he injected me with serum. I grabbed the harmonica shaped wood piece that i always carry around, with teeth mark's imprinted on its slick surface, put it in my mouth, and popped my arm back in place. I yelled in pain for a brink second. and then with my other hand I reached and grabbed Gebet’s radio and said. "Artillery.....fire the earthshaker rounds on....the squigoth..". I heard the artillery reply "firing solution plotted sir." the artillery crew loaded up the eartshaker rounds, covered their ears, and fired. The squigoth got up and was preparing to charge at the Baneblade until it was hit with 3 eartshaker rounds. It let out a howl which could shatter windows, and died. The orks then started to pull back from the assault. Knowing they'll just attack again later with more boyz. Gebet then helped me up asking "will you be able to move sir?" and I replied "I’ve been through worse". When I got to the base I ordered all guardsmen to prepare for a counter-attack. And to charge with the Leman Russ’s and the baneblade. "If we don’t annihilate the orks now, they'll come back bigger and stronger then last time and they'll keep coming back until you, or they, are dead."
I made a tech-priest set a chimera on auto-pilot and to aim it for the south. Inside was the warboss, head and all. "We will soon launch our attack, but we must wait until the orks are finished fighting amongst themselves for the
position." I confirmed. Soon enough we heard gunfiring and shouts in the far off distance, all of them fighting their own brethren to gain the warboss status. After what seemed a eternity of senseless violence, the civil war had
been won, and the new warboss had been elected. I yelled "NOW WE PUSH THE SOUTH FLANK." The 501st ran to the south with no time to waste, knowing it was now, or never. In the fierce south flank we met little resistance as the orks were weak and had insufficent supplys. We could see the orks main camp over the bridge and i shouted "FOWARD YOU DOGS, TO VICTORY." We sounded even stronger then the orks, as we charged like raging bulls and the orks were blood. Our feet struck the ground as if the earth was our enemy. All of the troops came to a sudden halt and quaked with fear. They had another squigoth. Seing this i told the troops "FIRE UNTIL YOU SEE IT GLOW." We put the baneblade tank in the front so the squigoth would aim for it as the guardsmen threw everything they had at the beast. the squigoth in deep pain, fell on the baneblade in its death. "FORGET THE BANEBLADE CHARGE THE ORKS CAMP." We all swarmed the orks main camp blowing up their towers with the blood red cloth silented with the white letterings with the letterings of "Waaagh". The warboss wasn't even tough as i took him down with ease, a bullet in the head . The mighty ork camp which showered us with troubles had finaly been ceased. I ordered my troops to rest, the battle had been long and harsh many guardsmen lost their lives for this city, this city that has no meaning, this city that probably would never be rebuilt to its old glory, this city that would soon fall under another. At that moment the sky started to tear, We felt as if the soft water was washing away all of our sorrow, our troubles, our hardship. We listened to the soft patter it made on our clad flack jackets as it dripped down into the soil. It was as if the very fragment of time stopped, no one rustling, no one making a sound, as if everything just stopped so that the rain would fall. We looked, looked at the damage we had instilled. I sat in the rain with a cigarette on my lips, i felt as if the rain was washing away my sins. for success is mesured in blood, yours or your enemies. I walked over to the fallen ork camp and placed our flag on it and i yelled "For Cadia, FORTRESS WORLD."
