I still have issues with distance. I have been thinking about it for the past week now. Somehow trying to figure out an answer as to how our hearts can connect with one another despite our physical position in the world. I thought about it and came up with a theory: memories. Memories and emotions seem to share a common bond where an emotion attaches itself to a memory, thus we can remember not only an incident from long ago, but also the emotion we felt during that time. If this is true, then the one thing that connects our hearts is memories. If two people share the same memory, then surely they share the same emotion, right?
However, already I can sense a problem with that theory. It is simple: perspective. It is what makes us unique. Every person in this world is unique and it is because they have their own perspective of something or someone. So for instance, just because two people can share the same memory, it does not 100% mean that they share the same emotion of the event. Thus, perhaps memories are not what connects our hearts. However, they do what they are suppose to do: remind us of past events, whether good or bad.
So again I ask what is that link that connects hearts together and what is it made out of? It could be made of a bunch of things. One could be emotions. After all emotions play a big role in the heart. They are what give the heart life and its very essence. It has just occurred to me. Essence. Yes maybe when two hearts connect, each heart leaves an essence of itself within the other heart. Maybe it’s more like a small fragment. Thus, no matter how far apart two hearts are, the heart will always contain a piece of the other. To think that such a small piece of a heart could have such a great effect, in this case creating some sort of chain that acts as a strong link that is seemingly unbreakable. Have I figured it out? How hearts are connected? Maybe this needs just a little bit more thought…
