This is my journal on which I plan to write about many things that interest me that I feel I should talk about.
The Secret to the Heart -- Report 10
Hope. What exactly gives the heart hope? Hope is the "emotional belief of a positive outcome related to events and circumstances within one's life." This is the definition I have found. Hope is an emotion, but for some reason I have an issue about that. See happiness and sadness are emotions. Does hope truly fall under the same category, or does it belong in a category above? I have been thinking about certain emotions that perhaps should not be mixed with others. Hope and confidence are a couple of emotions that I feel should be put in a separate category of emotions. I shall only talk about hope because that is the main question here.

Hopes are sparked by circumstances or events in one's life. But hope is also seen as an irrational emotion. The reason being there is something out there called "optimism." Both hope and optimism look like positive outcomes, but the difference is optimism stems from the brain and logic while hope stems from the heart. We have already looked at the heart as something that acts on instinct and does not know logic. So to hope means to take an illogical route to either a positive or negative outcome.

I guess to put hope into a good perspective, I shall use love as an example. When one has a crush on someone else, that person HOPES for a positive outcome, that being the two get together and live happily ever after. Now hope, being illogical, cannot be measured like optimism. In optimism, it is based on a probability of something happening. For instance "there is an 80% chance this will happen so I am optimistic about it." On the other hand, hope is based on a blind faith for something positive to happen. Why would people follow such a thing? Because their hearts want to. Simple as that. The heart, acting on instinct, is attracted to good feelings. If the heart detects good nearby, it will point itself in that direction. Even if it leads to disaster, the heart will still go anyways. But what happens if there is no hope? Will the heart still go in that direction? Is that even possible?

See I have a feeling that the slightest bit of good feeling the heart detects will spark hope. Hope comes from a blind belief of something positive happening so the second the heart feels something positive, hope will develop. So I believe it cannot happen the other way around. Hope does not determine the heart's feelings. The heart's feelings determine hope. But I will say that with the heart developing hope, hope then tries to guide the heart in the right direction and give it a certain degree of confidence.

So with that, I hope I have given an insight on the heart and why it hopes. Perhaps there are other connections that I should try to look further into.

That's incredible. How do you come up with this stuff? I bet you could publish a book of this.
