Omake of DOOM!!! XD

"what in the world...?" Reevers stared at the small pup laying pitifully on a small bed in the hospital wing. The head nurse was directing nurses left and right on who to take care of when. When Reever's had heard that Komoui had been found, he had planned on giving the child the lecture of a lifetime, but when he found out that he was residing in the infirmary, he decided that he had probably been punished enough. Now he was standing in the aisle, watching the organized chaos of the hospital.
"Reever-san!"
The man turned to see Lenalee waving happily over at the man. He grinned, greatful to be directed somewhere where he didnt feel like a giant road block.
"lenalee!" he smiled. He turned and looked at the bed she was next to. Komoui was laying in it, sleeping peacefully thanks to several sedatives administerd by the nurses. His left leg was covered in a large cast from toes to knee.
"how is he?"
"doing better." lenalee sighed. "blood loss, malnutrition, trauma... he shouldnt be running away for a while..."
Reevers ran a hand through his golden hair and sighed. The supervisor was always a troublemaker, but for him to get into that much danger...
He looked behind lenalee and saw lavi sitting by another bed, which held Kanda. The little samurai was sleeping, but restless as he tossed and turned, whimpering in his rest. Lavi was leaning over the bed, gently petting the boys hair and speaking soft, soothing words. It seemed to be working as kanda relaxed lightly. In the last bed, Allen lay still. Miranda was next to him, watching intently as a nurse was injecting a syringe into his arm.
"so they made the anti-venom?" Reevers asked. Lenalee looked up from staring at her brother and nodded with a smile.
"they said Allen-kun should be just fine with some rest."
Reevers smiled as well, then looked around again. "seems like we'er missing two..."
Lenalee smiled sadly at her brother, running a hand through his hair. She didnt want to believe what she had heard earlier, straight from Alteara. Lavi seemed to hear and understand, bowing his head as well. It had certainly not been pleasant.

*woo flashback!*
Alteara sat in a chair in the infirmary, a nurse gently wrapping the stab wound to her shoulder as she smiled. Lavi, lenalee, and Miranda sat around her, with the promise of an explanation and from being banned from the main hospital room until all of the children were stable.
"so?" lenalee looked on anxiously as the nurse retreated once finished.
"ah... where to begin..." alteara sighed.
"the beginning is always a good place to start." lavi said, sliding back into his chair and crossing his legs. Alteara smiled greatfully.
"alright... well.. first, there was the origional black order."
"origional black order?" miranda looked on curiously. Alteara nodded.
"it was the great great grandfather of this version of the order. Controlled by one man, it consisted of scientists that could control innocence and used it to creat horrible weapons and fighters to kill akuma."
"that sounds awful!" lenalee cried. Alteara nodded again.
"the scientists were all innocence users, unlike now, so they could create even more powerful innocence weapons, and would perform experiments on people to force them into compattability. Luna was taken from her home when she was a baby, and became an experiment for the order."
Miranda put a hand to her mouth, staring in awe. "what did they do..?"
Alteara looked at the floor sadly. "They would train the subject to become perfectly obedient, then instill in it a natural urge to kill anything identified as an enemy. For a small child that doesnt know any better... this life becomes perfectly natural. The training was harsh, and some were beaten to death as punishment. Those who couldnt adapt were killed, and those who could were kept just barley alive. They did horrible experiments, surgeries, it was more like torture. You had to stay perfectly obedient to survive, and that meant killing on command. One day you could be standing next to your partner in training, and the next day you could be killing them. Thats how it went..."
"that explains alot." lavi sighed. "luna's relapses must have set her back to that state. And seeing as she's currently in the order..."
Alteara nodded. "i was too hard on her.." she said sadly, eyes tearing. "i just thought... that she would be okay..."
"i never would have thought..." miranda said softly. "luna seems like such a sweet girl..."
"well.." alteara smiled softly, "after years of training and more horrible experiments, luna ended up becoming an 'immortal', or the 'exorcists' of that time. They were given a potion concocted of innocence that created such a long lifespan that one could be considered immortal. Once that happened, she was sent on missions into the world, and for the first time, got to see just how people were supposed to act. She learned about the world through her missions, and slowly began to rebel against the order. Some of the members of the origional science team agreed with her and helped her as much as they could."
"ah, would that be loxley?" Lenalee asked.
"yes." alteara grinned. "her and Ren were both members of the science team. They helped her plan a mass escape, and one day they, and some other members of the team, destroyed the orders main headquarters."
"wait." Lavi cocked his head for a moment. "what about you? Were you an 'experiment' too?"
Alteara shook her head.
"Luna was badly injured in the escape, and ended up in my hometown. She lived there for a while, then when she left, i asked if i could go with her."
Lavi raised an eyebrow. There were deffinitly some parts of the story that were missing...
"we travled together for a while, but by the time i looked to be about the same age as luna, the order had rebuilt with a vengance, and came after her. I was taken, and ended up staying there for a while... I was given the potion of life and they started to train me, but luna came back and destroyed the order again. This time she helped rebuild it and put people that she trusted in high positions, creating a more civil order which was the basis of todays order. Thats how we ended up as exorcists and not as traitors..."
Lavi nodded. He had heard this story before from bookman, of course with less detail and from a third person point of view, but still... it was much more interesting to hear it from the source. He would have to ask luna later...
"i should go..." Alteara said softly, standing from her chair and brushing down her clothes, wincing slightly. "luna's probably waiting..."
"should we come with you?" miranda said softly, standing as well.
"thats alright." Alteara smiled. She turned and walked away.
Lenalee sighed. "im glad im in this order, and not the older one..."
The others nodded.
*end flashback!*

Alteara stood outside the door to her room. She opened the door, and looked around. There, sitting on the floor, was luna, staring at the ground blankly.
"so you decided to reappear?" Alteara said sofly. She moved over to the girl and sat next to her. Luna blinked slowly at the ground.
"im sorry." she said softly. Alteara smiled.
"its not your fault. That place... what they did..."
"it is my fault." Luna said quietly. "i knew better. I should have done this before."
"eh?" Alteara blinked at the girl. "done what?"
Luna looked up at the bloned, eyes stopping to analyze the wound in her shoulder before meeting her eyes.
"put me to sleep."
Alteara stared.
"you want me to..."
"put me to sleep." Luna said, more firmly.
"but if i do that..."
"i dont care." luna sighed. She looked back at her hands, still red with blood, but turning brown. "ive had enough of this. Its too much. It's time to stop."
"luna... its only a few more days..."
"i dont care."
Alteara looked down at the small girl. It had been a long time since she had seen this part of luna. Tired, broken, hateful. It was enough.
"alright." Alteara said softly. "ill do what you want." She reached over and gently touched the girls forehead with two fingers. For a moment, neither girl seemed to be alive. There was no sound, not even a single breath. Then luna tilted back and collapsed onto the floor with a soft thump, eyes glazed. Alteara's hand dropped to her lap. She took a deep breath, then reached down and pulled the girl into her lap. She hated doing that. Forcefully putting someone to sleep was the same as locking their consiosness away. It would be painful later, and get worse the longer she stayed asleep, but for now, luna looked almost peaceful. Almost dead.
Alteara clung to the girl like a doll, slowly rocking back and forth, and cried.

Miranda smiled brightly as Allen stirred in his sleep. The child seemed much more alive now that his body was killing the venom. He whined a little before opening his bright silver eyes.
"m-m..an...da..." he croaked. His voice was cracked and broken.
"its alright dear..." miranda ran a hand through his hair, looking down at him lovingly. "your safe now... its okay..."
Allen reached up a small hand and whiped a tear from Mirandas face.
"i knew you would help me..." he smiled.
Miranda cried softly, cradeling the boy in her arms and grinning from ear to ear. She cooed and comforted the boy back to sleep. Lenalee grinned, laughing at how motherly miranda actually was.
The sound of a door snapped the group out of their happy moment, and they all turned to see Alteara walking in. She carried luna in her arms, and the girl looked as if she had just been rolling in mud. A nurse ran over and snatched the girl away from Alteara, who smiled sadly.
"so you found her?" Lavi asked. He was sitting on a chair holding Kanda, who was becoming more and more clingy as he woke. Alteara nodded.
"Did she finally pass out?" lenalee sighed. Alteara nodded.
"i guess you could say that."
They watched quietly as the nurses fussed over the new patient, cleaning off the blood and exchanging her clothing.
"what a day..." lavi sighed, running a hand through kanda's hair. "i dont know about you guys... but baby sitting is alot harder than i thought..."
Miranda laughed as lenalee pelted a clipboard straight at lavi, who just barley managed to dogde.
"i dont know..." miranda said softly. "besides all of the danger, i think they're kinda cute like this..."
"yes well its not going to last much longer." Reevers announced, clearing his throat. "the repairs on the age lazer should be finished in a few more days. Depending on how hard the supervisor works..." He glanced suspiciously at komoui, who grinned and nodded.
"ill do my best!"
"..." Reevers blinked. "well, then... that settles it." He grinned and waved as he left. "ill come back to see you in the morning!"
The adults all waved, along with komoui.

"WHEN I GET MY FREAKING HANDS ON HIM...!!!" Lenalee screached as she stomped down the corridor. Lavi was following behind, trying to calm the girl.
"n-now l-l-lenalee..." he laughed nervously "you know he's still hurt... and he couldnt have gone far..."
Lenalee growled. She couldnt believe that after everything he had put her through, her brother would run off again.
"he couldnt be that injured if he wandered off again!" she snapped. "when i get through with him he's going to need another cast! This one on his neck!"
Lavi sighed, walking in front of the girl.
"lets go talk to Reever, he'll probably know what to do..."
"oh i know exactly what to do..." lenalee growledd again. "im going to take my hands like this, and shake them like this, and then twist them like THIS!" She made an overly violent gesture in the air that lavi really didnt want to see acted out on a human.
"okay, okay..." he said softly, "why dont you go look... in that closet over there!" he pointed to a door that was slighly ajar. Inside they could see coats in the darkness.
"oooh..." lenalee laughed. " thats a good place... i wonder..." She stalked over and opened the door, staring into the dark. "oh niii-saaaan...." she called, much too sweetly. Lavi shivered. "come out come out where ever you aaaaare..." She wandered into the closet.
*slam*
"..."
"lavi...?"
"yes lenalee?"
"why did it just get dark...?"
"because i shut the door...?"
"and why are you outside of the door?
"uh..."
"lavi?"
"yes?"
"did you just lock me in a closet?"
"...no?"
"you know i can just kick down the door right?"
"*explicit swearing*"
"thats what i thought."
"..."
"are you going to let me out now?"
"..."
"lavi?"

A finder was walking down the hall. His name was phillip. Phillip had just returned from a hard mission, scouting out a town filled with haunted buildings, with windows that opened themselves, and doors that became violent if you got too close. Needless to say, Phillip was very tired and jumpy. He half expected every door he came across to start pounding at him. At Reever's request (because the head supervisor was missing) Phillip was going to take a nice long break to reclaim his nerves, and so far... Phillip was feeling pretty good.
Walking down the hall, Phillip saw something strange. A very large hammer was leaning from the railing to a door, holding the door closed. Phillip moved over for further inspection, seeing as he was a finder and thats what finders did, they inspected things. Phillip was just beginning to wonder just what was so important that someone would seal a door closed when...
the wall beside Phillip exploded.
It was unexpected.
Once the rubble and dust cleared, Phillip, from his place on the ground, recognized an exorcist called Ms. Lenalee Lee. She did not look happy at all. She turned toward Phillip and grabbed him by the shirt, lifting him from the ground.
"did you happen to see lavi go by here?" she asked, smiling like the devil.
Phillip promptly passed out.
Lenalee made a dissapointed face before dropping poor Phillip the the floor. "He needs some time off..." she muttered before stomping away, leaving poor Phillip lying on the floor and foaming at the mouth.

"Reevers!!" lavi pounded on the office door that was actually komoui's, but since the little scientist was...well... little and kinda missing, the office was under Reever's authority.
"For god sake if you know whats good for you open the door cuz i just locked lenalee in a closet and she's bound to break down the whole floor in a second and have you seen my spare jacket cuz it went missing a few days ago and oh komoui's missing again and-"
The door flew open and Reever's stood there, staring dumbly and Lavi.
"you're either completely retarded or a genius." Reever's said with disbelief. "now one thing at a time... You locked lenalee in a closet?"
Lavi fidgeted nervously. "can we talk about this inside because i kinda feel like it might keep me alive a few extra minuets...."
Reevers moved aside and let Lavi enter, closing the door behind him. He smiled greatfully at the man before turning and finding himself looking straight down the barrel of a lazer.
"YOU LOCKED MY DARLING LENALEE IN A CLOSET!?" Mini-Komoui screamed, brandishing the weapon at Lavi. Lavi stared in shock as Reever's snatched the weapon and put it in his pocket, before grabbing komoui off the floor and dragging him back to the desk.
"well it wasnt my fault, she was out to kill YOU!" he pointed at Komoui. "she thinks you ran off again."
"i left her a note..." Reevers put a hand to his chin in thought.
"great..." Komoui sighed. "because of your crap note leaving skills, im going to be killed by my darling lenalee..."
"That has to be the weirdest sentance in the history of mankind..." lavi stared. Then he started as he looked around the room.
"oh... im sorry, i must be in the wrong office..." he looked around at the paperless floor, paperless desk, and paperless couch in shock. "ill just go next door and see..." He started to leave when Reever's grabbed his arm and dragged him back into the room.
"i organized." he barked. "now about lenalee-"
"are you human?!" lavi yelled. "this room has NEVER been this clean! i mean... i had no idea that there were actually more chairs in here!" Lavi pointed at three chairs that matched the couch, sitting by the wall. "and this place is a LIBRARY?!" he pointed to the books on the wall.
"lavi..." Reever's sighed. "those books have ALWAYS been visible..."
"oh."
"are you even a bookman?"
"DONT KILL HIM HE HAS A NOTE!!!"
The group turned to see Miranda, leaning in the doorway and breathing heavily. Her hair was splayed in all directions and she looked like she had just run a marathon. In her hand she clutched a piece of paper that Reevers recognized as the note he left behind.
"Miranda..." lavi sighed. "lenalee isnt here..."
"oh." Miranda blinked at the group. "well where is she."
"oh, she'll show up eventually..." Reevers laughed nervously. Miranda walked into the room, closing the door and looking around.
"oh, im sorry, i must be in the wrong office." she smiled sweetly. "ill just go next door and-" lavi and Reevers grabbed her arms and pulled her back into the room.
"i organized." Reevers sighed.
"ARE YOU HUMAN?!"
"look, we've already been over this." Lavi sighed.
"oh?" Miranda looked curious. "... i didn know this room was a library!"
Reevers smashed a hand to his forehead.
"i know right!" lavi grinned at the girl who grinned back.
"so cheif, hows the lazer comming?" lavi leaned around Reevers to see Komoui working on the gun. The mini scientist was using a metal probe to adjust the wires, and was doing so with his tounge sticking out of his mouth in concentration.
"Should be done tomorrow!" he chirped cheerfully. A flash of light appeared through the room before the mini-scientist was laying on his desk, charred and smoking.
"or maybe the next day..." he coughed, a plume of black smoke erupting from his mouth.
"geeze..." Reever's sighed. "thats the third time you've electrocuted yourself on that thing! If you dont cut it out head nurse is going to cut me in half!"
"speaking of which..." komoui seemed to become serious, cleaning his glasses on his shirt. "how are the others doing?"
"Allen-Kun is much better!" Miranda chirped. "he has a few symptoms of a nasty cold, but he's eating like normal and regaining his energy. Head Nurse said he should be able to be discharged tomorrow~!"
"thats good!" Komoui smiled with a nod. "... how's kanda?"
Lavi frowned. "Still in shock." He crosed his arms and bounced around lightly. "Theyre having a hard time getting him to do anything, and have to sedate him to sleep... When he's awake... he refuses to be left alone..."
Komoui sighed. "this is my fault..." he said sadly. "if i hadnt been foolish and run off like that, kanda wouldnt have had to fight that monster..."
"its not your fault komoui..." Miranda said softly. "its ours." lavi nodded. "we were responsible for you children, and then even when we knew there was danger, we still sent an unarmed child into the battle field... I dont know what we were thinking..."
Komoui shook his head. "protecting children comes with alot of responsibility and decisions... you couldnt have been expected to make the right decision all the time..."
The room was quiet for a moment.
"So how is luna?" Reevers asked quietly. Komoui looked up in interest. Miranda and Lavi's faces were grim.
"The nurses say... She's in some sort of deep sleep." miranda said, fiddleing with her hands. "they cant figure out how to wake her, and Alteara has been acting strange..."
Komoui sighed. "i should have known this would happen. I already knew about her past experience with the original order..."
"so what should we do?" Lavi asked, shifting from one foot to the other. "how long do you think-"
"we wait." komoui said firmly. "Alteara wouldnt just sit by if something was really wrong. This must be necissary, so we have to sit by and be patient just like Alteara."
The others nodded.
"oh niiiii-saaaannn...."
Komoui paled.
"quick!" he motioned in front of himself. "stand there so she kills you first!"
"impossible." The others all monotoned.
"so heartless!" komoui cried.
The door to the office almost flew off its hinges when they burst open. A very angry lenalee stood in the doorway, glaring promises of death to everyone in the room.
"ah...l-lenalee..." lavi laughed nervouslly. "before you go on a horrible killing spree..." a clipboard flew and smashed him in the face.
"PSOAHE..." he winched and held his hands over his nose. Oh, he was going to have black eyes later...
"miradda had domting to yell at you." he whined.
"eh?" Miranda looked at the red head curiously. "i do?"
Lavi nodded, motioning to the note still clutched at her hand.
"oh!" miranda laughed. "yes thats right!" she cleared her throat. Lenalee stood, tapping a foot on the floor and in effect, splintering the floorboards.
"ah.. oh yes. DONT KILL HIM HE HAS A NOTE!!"
The group deadpanned at Miranda's sudden switch to hysterics. Miranda held out the note to lenalee who took it and read it. As she did, the group could feel the killing aura dissapating.
"oh!" lenalee smiled. "well then its okay!" she turned and walked out of the room, humming a little tune.
"ah my darling lenalee..." Komoui grinned goofily. "she's so cute when stalking for the kill..."
The group deadpanned.

Alteara sat in the hospital wing, staring at the white walls, white ceiling, white uniform... she sighed.
"never thought i would be sick of the color white." she sighed. Gently, she shifted kanda in her lap. He had woken up and panicked until she picked him up and cuddled him back to sleep. She sighed again. Having a mini pillow wasnt all that bad... in small doses.
"too much white is unhealthy." a little voice responded. She turned to see Allen smiling at her from his bed. "someone told me that once..."
"im sorry Allen-kun." she smiled back. "did i wake you?"
"nope!" Allen blushed when his stomach rumbled. "that did..."
Alteara laughed lightly before summoning over a nurse and sending her to the silverhaired boy. Once Allen had placed his, slightly smaller than normal, order, he turned back to the blonde.
"how is he?" he asked, motioning to the boy in her arms. Alteara smiled sadly.
"He went through alot. He's going to need lots of time and comfort to recover."
"oh he's going to love that." Allen sighed. "the two things he hates are the two things he needs to feel better..."
Alteara laughed lightly. Kanda shifted from the motion, whimpering softly and scrunching his hands in her shirt. She cooed to him softly and ran a hand through his hair, relaxing him.
"you're good at that." Allen smiled. Alteara blushed.
"not really..." she laughed softly. "you should see Luna do it. She's a real mother..."
"eh?!" Allen stared in shock. "no way! i could never see her as a mother figure..."
Alteara grinned. "she does the baby voice..."
"no way!"
She nodded and they both laughed. Alteara's voice faded quickly as she looked over to the bed holding luna. Allen looked as well.
"will she be okay?" he said softly.
Alteara sighed. "its up to her."
"idiots..."
Alteara blinked, confused, before looking down at her lap. Kanda was glaring up at her sleepily.
"your talking so loudly." he mumbled, rubbing an eye.
"ah... im sorry.." Alteara said softer, staring at the boy in awe. "how... how are you feeling?"
"i feel fine." kanda snapped. Then he blinked. "w..." he blushed horribly. "why am i on your lap?"
Alteara missed the blush and cocked her head in confusion. "you... dont know?"
Kanda blinked up at her, confusion overriding his embarassment as he looked around.
"oi." he called to Allen. "youre' better now?"
Allen nodded slowly.
"so what animal was it?" Kanda asked, looking up at Alteara. "snake? spider? something from the stupid science department?"
"kanda..." Alteara said slowly. "whats the last thing you remember doing..?"
kanda thought for a moment before shrugging. "we were outside when that idiot moyashi got bit by something and passed out... then we all came here and that baka usagi was holding me and i fell asleep and here i am."
"..."
"what?" kanda snapped.
"ah..." Alteara looked around in confusion. "lets go talk to komoui shall we..?"

"its trauma." Komoui said simply. "and i must say, this is probably for the best."
The group had been discussing Kanda's 'condition' while kanda went with Reevers for a physical.
"Should we remind him?" lavi asked, putting a hand to his chin.
"probably not." Komoui sighed. "his body will remember on its own time, but for now, to promote its own survival, the mind has locked away those memories for a while."
The group nodded.
The door to the office quietly opened and Reever entered, holding a very pissed looking kanda.
"and why exactly did i need to have a physical?" he snapped, wiggleing himself out of Reevers grasp.
"precaution!" Komoui grinned widley. The others sighed.
"just go with it Kanda..." lavi sighed, picking the grumpy boy off the floor. "hug me you little fool!" he laughed loudly, hugging kanda as he squirmed and yelled death threats.
"so where did miranda go?" Reevers asked, looking around the room and noticing the girl was absent.
"she went to go keep an eye on Allen-kun since your with kanda and Alteara is here and darling lenalee is taking a break and there is no one with allen or luna." Komoui called from his desk. He continued to work on the small lazer, adjusting a few wires.
"and how long until that thing is done?" Kanda snapped at the mini scientist.
"only a few more days Kanda-kun." Komoui grinned brightly at the boy.
"that means more play time for me and Yuu!"lavi laughed at his joke as kanda pathetically punched him in the gut.

Miranda sat in the quiet hospital ward. It was nice here, and she enjoyed the silence as she gently brushed Allen's hair. The small boy had been glad to see her when she showed up to watch him, and she had pulled him right onto her lap on the bed. So now she sat on the bed, with Allen sitting in front of her, enjoying the moment of peace. Suddenly, a though popped up into Miranda's head.
"Allen-kun..." she said softly. "do you... do you remember anything about your mother?"
She felt the boy in front of her stiffen.
"ah... im sorry to pry!" Miranda cried softly. "just pretend i didnt ask!"
It was quiet for a moment as Miranda continued to gently brush.
"I... I dont remember anything about her." Allen said softly. "nothing at all..."
Allen jumped when he felt gentle arms pull him into a hug. Miranda held him softly as he sighed. He would have cried if he had any tears left, but all of his tears for his mother had long since been shed. Miranda eventually returned to brushing Allens hair, gently combing through the silver locks gently, and admiring the softness, occasionally tickling the boy. Allen laughed.
"... Miranda?"
"yes?"
"would it be okay... i mean.. after i get bigger... if... occasionally..." He blushed mady and twisted the cover in his hands. "... forget it."
Miranda smiled.
"My room will always be open for you Allen-kun." Miranda said softly, gently nuzzling the boys hair. Allen giggled and smiled brightly.
If he ever did remember his mother, he hoped she would be just like this.

"alright Yuu-chan!" lavi grinned as he finally returned to his room for the night. It had gotten late, and what with todays stressful activities, it hardly seemed like it was only one day. Lavi felt like he had been awake for days, and didnt even want to imagine what kanda was feeling.
"you ready to go to bed?"
Kanda nodded sleepily, fisting an eye with his hand.
"i dont know why 'm so tired..." kanda mumbled. "i slept most of today..."
Lavi sighed. "sleep makes me sleepy sometimes... that must be it." He grinned and pulled the mini samurai into bed with him, pulling the covers over them both. "just take it easy and sleep as much as you want yuu-chan!"
"stop callin' me that." kanda growled quietly, but he already seemed asleep. Lavi smiled, flicking off his light and closed his eyes. He was just drifting off to sleep when he felt kanda start to shake.
"Yuu-chan?" Lavi mumbled sleepily.
"l-l-lavi..." Kanda whimpered. "w-what... w-w-why..."
Lavi hurridly flicked on the light to see Kanda crying heavily, his eyes wide.
"yuu-chan whats wrong!?" lavi cried, sitting up and pulling the boy into his lap, hugging him softly and rocking him gently.
"i-i....i saw something... in the dark..."
Lavi stared. "what did you see?" he looked around the room in confusion.
"a... a wolf!" Kanda gasped, buring his face into Lavi's shirt. "it was h~huge and there was b-b-blood everyw~where and it tried to k~kill me!" he cried, little body shaking. Lavi sighed.
"There, there..." he pet the boy on the head and ran a hand through his hair.
"why!" kanda cried. "why would i dream that! I didnt even think i was asleep! i... i..."
"shhhh..." Lavi hugged the boy tightly. He wasnt really sure what to do. It he said it wasnt a dream... then there would be definit issues, and he didnt want kanda to go into shock again... but if he lied and kanda found out...
"why dont we... go and visit aunty Miranda..." lavi sighed, thinking of who's room was closest. "would you feel better if we had company?"
Kanda nodded with a hiccup, still tightly attached to Lavi's shirt. Lavi sighed, holding the boy lightly and standing. Sleep would have to wait...

Miranda had just settled Allen to bed in her room, seeing as he had been released early. The boy was still coughing quite a bit, but he would recover quickly. She glanced at him through the mirror as she brushed her hair for the night. He was lying on his back, just starting to fall asleep. She jumped when a small knock sounded on her door.
"Miranda!" a voice called quietly, acknowledging the late time at night. "could we come in?"
Miranda blinked, before recognizing the voice as Lavi's. She turned to Allen, who had sat up and he shrugged at her, signaling it was fine with him. She moved to the door and opened it quietlly. Lavi stood in his pyjamas, holding a shaking Kanda.
"oh my..." She said sofly. "is he okay?"
Lavi shook his head, not wanting to say something that might convince the boy it was a dream or reality. Miranda seemed to catch on and allowed the two to enter. Lavi sat on the bed next to Allen, who looked on with innocent interest.
"come here Kanda..." Miranda cooed softly, pulling the boy away from Lavi. She held him close, rocking him gently. Lavi blinked in suprise when kanda reached up and unconsiously fiddled with Mirandas long hair, twisting it in his hands carefully.
Miranda turned so that lavi could see her, and mouthed a question.
"could you take allen out for a bit?"
Lavi nodded in silent consent.
"ne beansprout?" lavi grinned.
Allen, who had seen the whole exchange, decided to play along.
"im not a beansprout." he mumbled. "my name is allen. Al-len."
"alright Al-len." lavi laughed when Allen pouted. "wanna go for a snack?"
Allens eyes went wide as dinner plates as he nodded forcefully. Lavi giggled and picked up the boy, moving toward the door.
"you guys want something?" he asked, turning around at the door.
"tea would be nice." Miranda smiled softly. Kanda nodded as well.
"two tea's it is!" lavi smiled, then left quietly.
Miranda sat on the bed with kanda, stroking a hand through his hair.
"now kanda." she said softly. "what is it that has you so upset?"
Kanda tensed as he started to hiccup again.
"i... i had a nightmare..."
"really?" Miranda feigned suprise. "do you want to talk about it?"
Kanda shook his head.
"sometimes it helps..." miranda egged him on.
Kanda sighed shakily.
"i was attacked by a wolf." he said softly, shuddering from the dream.
"how awful!" miranda said quietly. She rubbed soothing circles on the boys back, helping him relax.
"i was in a dark room... and someone was with me... and the wolf came out and i was really scared... i couldnt move... and then it saw me and attacked and... and..." He burried his face into Miranda's chest.
"Did it hurt you?" Miranda said softly. Kanda looked up at her, seemingly to ask if she was crazy, but the more he thought about it...
His eyes went wide with realization.
"it... it never touched me..." he said with awe. He looked up to Miranda in confusion.
"really?" Miranda asked "why not?"
Kanda scrunched his face in concentration as he thought for a moment.
"someone... someone stopped it every time..."
"Do you know who it was?"
Kanda shook his head. "but... it felt like someone i could trust to help me..."
"oh?" Miranda placed kanda back on the bed and he looked around nervously as she stood and moved to her dresser. She had a good idea. Turning around, she held a comb in her hand. It always worked with Allen, why not kanda? Plus.. she had always secretly wished she could play with kanda's long hair...
Kanda eyes her curiously as she sat beside him on the bed. He flinched when she pulled his hair down and let it sprawl across his back. When he had shrank, his hair had managed to still be long, even on a child, so it was essentially the same.
Gently, Miranda ran the comb through, and instantly, kanda seemed to relax. She hummed curiously, wondering if maybe his own mother had done this.
"So you think that's a nightmare?" she asked softly. Kanda nodded, but it was shaky seeing as he was starting to fall asleep.
"i dont think that dream was bad." she said softly. "because if its like you said, then you have some wonderful friends who are there to protect you from even the scariest of creatures... even in your sleep."
Kanda thought for a second. The more he focused, the more details appeared in his dream. The one who saved him... it was one of his 'friends'. It had been luna. And then, he was there with komoui, because he was trying to save his 'friend' as well...
The room was quiet for a bit as Miranda silently brushed Kanda's hair.
"it wasnt."
"hm?" Miranda looked at the boy hopefully.
"it wasnt that scary now that i think about it..." he said softly, looking down at his lap. "and... it wasnt a dream was it?"
Miranda smiled.
"that is for you to decide." she said softly. Kanda hummed as she continued to comb out his soft hair. It was just as nice as she had imagined. Kanda sighed. His mother had brushed his hair just like this when he was little, but since he joined the order so quickly, he hadnt enjoyed this luxury for many years. Who has the time to gently brush their own hair? Who can do that for that matter?
"thanks." Kanda said softly. Miranda smiled, pulling his hair back into a ponytail and retying it. Kanda flipped it over his shoulder and touched it gently. It felt soft...
"m-miranda... um..."
"yes dear?"
"forget it."
Miranda smiled again. Those two were really alike.
"my door will always be open for you." she smiled and hugged the boy softly.

Allen: um... author-chan... why are you stopping? isnt this your 'two more' update limit?
Author: *death glare*

Lavi: shes like a drug addict.
Allen: yup, deffinitly a drug addict.
lenalee: how awful that she cant control her drug addict self...
Author: ALRIGHT ALRIGHT!!! geeze... its like you guys want to stab my heart out with just words... but!
group: but?
Author: if i leave it like this.... you guys stay children.
Allen: *pales*
komoui: NOUUUUU!!!!
lavi: NICE! *thumbs up* Well.. thats all folks, make up your own endings!!
kanda: *grabs lavi and drags him from the room*

Kanda: if you dont, ill find you in your sleep and shove mugen so far down your throat youll be muphe mumphhm pummph mu mumth moo... *glares*

Allen: what rating?

lavi: *reapears in a body cast* i think.. the author should keep going! *nods*
author: i dont wanna know... well anyway! i guess the votes are in! there will be ONLY ONE more instalment of this omake before i write some of my origional story. those updates will be FAST! like, five in one day or something. so be prepared!! *fastens seatbelt*
That is... unless i come up with more ideas for this story. But probably NOT.
Next chapter!! The horror of relapses! Adventures in art class maybe? deffinitly cute small children! more horrible spelling errors, and the return to normalcy!! (or is it??!) lol. i am WAY to excited.
