Ah yes, I've been waiting to actually propose to my GF (fiancee now biggrin ) for about... 4-6 months or so.

She's been with me through some of the toughest times in my life. She accepted me for who I am, she is one of the reasons I got out of the rut I was in with depression and trying to kill myself (read Me version 2.0 for more details). She accepted my son as her own even though he's not and was conceived when I was 17.

She's never once put me down (unless she's joking) and never once thought I was crazy for texting her at 2:00 AM just to say 'I love you' or something random.

So, she lives about 18 hours away for school (which will be done in the end of April). Today, well yesterday technically, her father, younger brother, older sister and mother went to go pick her up to bring her home. Before they went back to their house, they stopped by my place.

My sister, sister's fiancee, my son and I were waiting in the lobby of our apartment building for them to come in so we could kind of plan Christmas and give them directions to my aunt's place.

As soon as I saw the car pull up, I went outside to help her out and be all gentlemanly. As I was walking towards the car, she stepped out and I guess I kind of thought to myself:"I want her to be with me forever." I don't think she actually managed to take a step away from the car before I grabbed her, swung her around and said:"Marry me."

She broke out into this huge grin and said:"Yes!" really loud then started hugging me. It was hilarious, I didn't even have the ring ON me that I picked out like last month. Usually I plan this sort of thing and make it like super romantic but I just couldn't wait till May to do it.

Her dad's reaction was hilarious, oh he knew it was coming, don't get me wrong. But seeing him go from:"I'm going to KILL him." to:"Ah, hell, could be worse *hugs*" almost made me burst out laughing.

Once we got back inside and upstairs to my place, I did the whole formal 'get down on one knee' thing and presented her with the ring. Which she totally gushed over. So instead of talk about Christmas dinner, it was talk about a wedding...lol.

We're not sure when we'll have it, sometime in autumn but more then likely not this year as I still have a fear of cameras to get over. As much as I want to marry her and start a family with her, I don't think I can get over that in less than a year.

Her dad also wants to pay for at least half so he wants to save up a bunch of money so she can have a huge wedding. Not so sure on the huge wedding part, but I'm not going to complain if he wants to help with payment and all that. I'm just glad he's allowing me to marry her since he absolutely HATED me when we first met.

My son couldn't be happier either, he all ready knows her as 'mommy' so now she doesn't have to give him a weird little look when he calls her that. And she can't wait to take my name...lol. It's that epic I guess...lol.

My sister is all to excited to plan a wedding, so is my Aunt. Though my aunt says she's going to talk to other members in my family and tell them, though I don't really care if none of them show up. Again, read previous entries for that.

I'm just overjoyed right now, my life has taken so much of a turn for the better in the past two years and I couldn't be happier. I've come a long way since the first journal entry I posted here...lol. I guess this is why people actually keep a journal, to see their growth and all that.

Anyway, this ends the rambling about my engagement.
